Winter has very much arrived in my garden and looking at the plants around me I see there are many ways they wind down for the winter. Annual plants have scattered their seeds around for next year. Biennials have stored up lots of energy in their roots ready for another year before they scatter their seeds also and perennials have retreated back to their roots to hibernate and conserve energy before the growing season starts again in spring.
